These Terms govern use of LocalHandz. By creating an account or using LocalHandz, you agree to these Terms.
1. What LocalHandz does
LocalHandz provides an online platform that helps people post local jobs and connect with people who may wish to perform them. LocalHandz does not perform the jobs advertised on the platform and is not the employer, employee, contractor, agent or partner of users who post or perform jobs.
2. User responsibility
Users decide who they deal with and are responsible for checking another user's suitability, experience, qualifications, licences, insurance and identity where relevant. Users are responsible for agreeing the job scope, price, timing, access arrangements and payment directly with each other.
3. Jobs and conduct
Information posted on LocalHandz must be accurate and lawful. Users must not post or accept illegal, unsafe, fraudulent, misleading or prohibited work, impersonate another person, harass others, misuse personal information, or use the platform to facilitate unlawful activity.
4. Application credits
One application credit permits one job application. Credit prices and package sizes are shown before purchase. Where LocalHandz provides a refund or credit under its published cancellation rules, the adjustment will be made to the user's LocalHandz credit balance. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
5. Cancellations
If a job poster cancels before selecting an applicant, eligible active application credits may be returned to applicants. Once an applicant has been selected, application credits are locked and are not ordinarily refunded merely because the job is later cancelled. LocalHandz may correct credits where necessary to address an error, legal requirement, fraud or misuse.
6. Payments for jobs
Unless LocalHandz expressly introduces a separate payment service, payment for the work itself is arranged between the job poster and the person performing the job. LocalHandz does not take a percentage commission from the agreed job value.
7. Disputes and platform role
Users are primarily responsible for resolving disputes concerning the performance, quality, timing or payment of a job. LocalHandz may review reports, preserve records, restrict accounts or assist with platform-related issues, but does not guarantee the conduct, workmanship, identity, qualifications, availability or payment performance of any user.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LocalHandz is not responsible for loss, injury, property damage, poor workmanship, non-payment or other harm arising from dealings or jobs arranged between users. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, these Terms do not exclude or restrict that liability or any applicable consumer guarantee or statutory right.
9. Accounts and enforcement
LocalHandz may investigate suspected misuse and may restrict, suspend or close accounts where reasonably necessary for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance or enforcement of these Terms. Users remain responsible for activity conducted through their accounts.
10. Changes
These Terms may be updated as LocalHandz develops. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate. The current version will remain available on this website.
11. Australian law
These Terms are intended to operate under applicable Australian law. Nothing in them excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
